Thanks for your interest in becoming a member of MCCR! Here are some FAQ’s.
What does membership mean?
Membership is a term that means different things in different organizations. Here at MCC, members are people who have decided they want to commit to being a part of fulfilling the mission of our church, and living out our core values.
What are our core values?
Our mission statement says Christ calls us to serve others, grow closer to God, and build community.
Our values wheel includes the following : Spirituality, Generosity, Trust, Integrity, Diversity, Community, Passion, and Love.
How do members commit to fulfilling the mission of the church?
Normally in three ways. First, through regular participation in the worship life of the community. Your singing, prayer and praise is important! Second, through financial giving. All of our ministries are funded by the generous giving of people just like you! Third, through choosing a ministry area to work in. Everyone has a unique calling from God, and you may be able to fulfill yours through the ministries of MCC!
What if I’m not ready to make those commitments?
All of our worship, programs and ministries are still open to you. The only things that you cannot do without being a member are serve on the Board of Directors or as a lay Delegate, and vote at congregational meetings.
Is MCC a Christian church?
Yes, and we attempt to keep Christ the center of all that we do. Some of our members do find helpful wisdom in other faith traditions. Anyone who wishes to grow as a disciple (follower) of Jesus is welcome to be a member of MCCR.
What do I do if I want to join?
Attend a membership class! See the home page for the next membership class dates, or call the office.
What will I find there?
You will hear about the faith journeys of some other people new to MCC, and about the history of our church and denomination. You will learn more about MCC’s mission, values, and faith, and will discover more about your own. And you will meet some nice new people!
